Mr Awad was clear and concise with his explanations of what was going to happen and equally on post op care. I chose Mr Awad as my surgeon through other people’s recommendations and would not hesitate to pass my recommendations on to others. Throughout my stay at hospital I was listened to, which eased my anxiety of needles. Every effort was made so that I was comfortable with what was happening to me and I can’t thank them enough for that.

Dr Awad is a very skilled and highly thought of Bariatric surgeon. As soon as I was assigned him I was happy with this and watched his videos and was not concerned in the least of his ability to perform a brilliant job. As my first ever surgical procedure I was obviously very nervous before my surgery but Dr Awad helped put me at ease with his calm and to the point approach. I am very happy with my sleeve procure.

I had a gastric sleeve at the end of October not even 3 months after I'm down 3.5st. From the first moment I spoke to Mr Awad he put me at ease. Any question I had not matter how ridiculous he talked through in great depth. I spoke with others prior to booking my op and without question he was the best. On the day he knew I was incredibly nervous but he had such a calm manner I was soon as calm as I could be. Following surgery the care was just as good. Mr Awad has given me the tool I needed to change every aspect of my life and I will forever be grateful.

I had a VSG with Mr Awad at Burcot through Tonic in October 2022. Having PCOS and long standing issues with my weight I had been considering my options for VSG for some time. I had (many!) phone consultations with Mr Awad prior to booking, and he was more than happy to talk through all of my questions and concerns and he really put me at ease. The team at Tonic have been outstanding in making sure the booking process and post op process has been smooth and I felt really cared for. Mr Awad also ensured I fully understood what was expected of me following the procedure and checked in to ensure everything was going to plan. Post op, he gave me a thorough run through of how the operation went (including pictures) and fully reassured me. The letter post op he also provides for my GP was thorough and meant my GP had full oversight of what had been undertaken and what my ongoing needs would be, which meant having the support from my GP was a lot easier than I was expecting. I am so happy I went with both Mr Awad and Tonic. This is life changing and the support is excellent.
